Happy Wednesday everyone! I had something going on last week but it left me reflective and hopeful about this coming new week. One of the topics it brought up for me was the importance of self-love when manifesting. It sounds trite but it’s an aspect of the law of attraction that all of us could benefit from. Before I even start with this conversation I want you all to know my perspective on self-love. It isn’t egotistical. It’s actually full of honesty and joy. The reason I say this is because when you love yourself. You know who you are. You the person and life you are creating. You know what you want. And you even more so, you enjoy what you are doing in the world. This concept took me a while to grasp because I had such a lack of self-love. I still have my days but it’s grown. Now it’s better and I feel better and more honest with who I am. And no I’m not just talking about all of the girly stuff. I’m talking about the vibrational mantras and affirmations that amp up our self-worth. That and love is important. Knowing our self-worth is even more important. Take it from a creative who gets judged all the time. It’s weird and I don’t understand it at times. There are a few important aspects when manifesting. One of them is self-love. In fact it’s at the core of the law of attraction. You never know what you’re going to get and it could come from anywhere. Therefore I felt it was important to discuss its importance when manifesting. There are many reasons self-love is important. People use it as a tool to live the life they truly desire. Although in my opinion, the only reason self-love is important is because it reflects in your daily life. I know I say this a lot but remember that the universe feeds off of vibrations, not words. Hence all good thoughts will reflect in your day to day life. Even more so what you are thinking. [I can’t tell you how many times this has happened to me. It’s stupid.j Think of the thought as releasiing a frequency. If you keep thinking to yourself “I’m ugly,” then you will remain ugly. This is because you will be putting out the vibration that you are ugly. If I had done that in college when trying to make friends, I would still be in a rut. I wouldn’t have anyone to talk to and it would be sad. And we don’t want that happening to ya’ll now. Do we? Some things I do to cultivate this self-love varies depending on what I’m doing. Regardless, they all mimic the same things. Some of these activities include going on walks, reading self-help books, breathwork, dance, taking naps [yes this is true. Ya’ll better not laugh at me], and doing grounding work. I listed a lot but these are the main ones that I recommend to you all. Reading Self-Help Books Yes I read self-help books. They are my actual addiction. I pretty much do everything in them and listen to what they tell me. Now I’m not a crazy person when it comes to sticking to the practices but I keep them as a tool box for others to use. Some great ones I recommend are Wayne Dyers’ Manifest Miracles, Abraham and Ester-Hicks The Law of Atrraction: The Basics of the Teaching of Abraham, and every Brene Brown book. Okay maybe not every Brene Brown book but some of them. The main ones being Rising Strong and Daring Greatly. Walks Yes it’s trite but it’s worth it. No really it’s worth it. Walks allow me to think. I can let my mind run on autopilot. It’s like meditation when we are awake in this reality. This reason I am attracted to this and why I started doing this is because (1) I can be the reflective Taurus I am and go after what I want. (2) I can also allow for changes to occur inside of me. It’s how I know if I am truly living my authentic truth. Don’t go too far because it’s going to take the same amount of time to walk back. Unless you’re a long distance walker. Breathwork Breathwork is using your breath to calm yourself down. As someone who gets nervous, I can tell you that this works. There are many YouTube videos but these are the few that I am recommending. https://youtu.be/QANqVJHqWmw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0jGWJcALGA (and please don’t laugh at me on this last one) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mzyw_W5m4Y Grounding Work This one may make you look like a five year old but I promise it will be worth it. Grounding work is one of my biggest recommendations because it connects you with what is really important. The earth, plants, and animals. People can easily lose sight of what we already have and look longingly to the future for things. However, it’s important to remain grateful because doing so allows for abundance to flow in. Grounding work can be walking barefoot on the ground (aka “earthing”) to simply following your breath. Feel the air and all of the earth’s textures mess with your feet. In my own experience doing these exercises has brought me a decrease in inflammation, chronic pain, blood pressure, and stress. I used to be someone who had crimpling anxiety. It was to the point where I didn’t know if I would make it. That’s a scary thought for someone who is twenty two. [More information: https://scottjeffrey.com/grounding-techniques/ ] Alright that's my 50 cents for this week. My purpose in telling you these things is to remind ya'll how important self-love is. This involves it's maintenance and increasing of it throughout our spiritual journey. In a world where people's photo seem to mean more than our own well-being, I want you to know that you are worthy for your manifestations. You are worthy to physicalize a million dollars or pursue and artistic career or adopt your own dog or start a llama sanctuary. [yes I wrote a llama sanctuary. don't judge me]. You are worthy to attain all that you are attracting into your life. It may not feel like it some days but know that the universe is conspiring for you. There are days where I forget why I do what I do. Heck I forget why I have this blog. Why I dance, act, model [yes I model but it was random how I started. More on that later]. Why I am the way I am. That being said, have great night or day. If I could give each of you a hug, I would. Namaste.
