Happy Sunday! Today’s post is on something that I’ve been studying for a while: the moon’s phases. Why? I’m a nerd, am too curious for my own good, and love learning. This was also the thing that used to confuse me. I would literally give a confused look when people would say, "the new moons coming. Get ready." It didn't start making sense to me when I started doing my law of attraction rituals a year and half ago. And let’s be honest: I’ve basically been doing school for sixteen years so I might as well learn things that I want to know. So without further ado here we go. The moon is associated with femininity and is used in fertility. There are many goddess from various cultures that represent the moon. You may have heard some women say that they start that time of the month when there’s a new moon. I’m not saying this explains the hormonal changes but it does correlate with our natural ecosystem. Furthermore women may also go through the same emotional states. For example I feel renewed during a new moon I feel like I’m losing my mind during a full moon. What determines the moon’s phases is the light and sun distance and light’s visibility on earth. In other words it’s the moon and earth's positioning. The moon is also a reflection of the sun's light. So in reality it's like a dimming light bulb while the sun is on blast. The moons phases are 7.4 days apart and takes 29.5 days to travel the earth. During this time, people go through many emotions, especially when they are in the manifestation process. I tend to be one of these people...just saying. 1. New Moon The new moon is important for many reasons. It’s when people set out to make their dreams become a reality while others manifest small things (like free concert tickets). It’s honestly a great time to start over in any area of your life whether that be your spiritual practice, working out, or busting an old habit. As I said previously, some women start PMSing. During this time it’s best to give yourself some alone time. I usually give myself a few hours to myself and let go of unwanted thoughts. I list out all of my limiting beliefs and change them into positive affirmations. For example if I don’t feel like I believe I believe in myself, I write the phase “I believe in the great work I am doing” and say that to myself. I then write out my manifestations as if they had already happened. It might sound strange but believe me when I tell you: it works. It’s another form of self-care and setting the intentions for your desires. 2. Waxing Crescent The meaning of the Waxing Crescent is to set intentions, hopes, and wishes. It is the time to begin making plans and playing “as if” to the universe. For example if I wanted to learning Spanish, then I would start listening to Spanish music and learning about Spanish culture. I would set the intention to watch Spanish related content for a few hours a day. Not only will this tell the universe that you want to learn Spanish but also your subconscious. As time goes on, you will become fluent in Spanish (and maybe it's culture too). This probably won't happen in a month but you will begin to see progress. 3. First Quarter Moon This is when obstacles start coming. Yes it starts to get "hard." The reason I put this in quotations is because challenges are subjective. You can either welcome them or let them tear you apart. Personally I begin to feel resistance in the form of self-doubt (aka the thing that stops us from taking action/slows us down). Nevertheless, this is the time to work hard and do the “grind.” It may feel like you’re not getting anything done but trust me when I tell you that you are. The universe is listening to you and is working in your favor. The main thing to remember during this phase is to keep your intentions and vibrations high. DO NOT let self-doubt talk you out of your dreams. You are the determining factor of your destiny, no one else. 4. Waxing Gibbous This is a time to reevaluate, let go, and move on. Don’t be hard on yourself. As a Taurus this is something I struggle with. Then again I also think it's also because I'm only twenty one. Anyways, if things aren’t working out as you planned let them go. Otherwise they will seep into your subconscious and it will become a limiting belief. And I really don’t wish that for ya’ll. "The moon is a loyal companion. 5. Full Moon Oh those full moons. When the sun and moon are on opposite sides of the zodiac. We’ve been through so many this year. And as I’ve seen, tensions build. Which can lead to resentment. Which lends itself to drama. Therefore don’t get overly emotional or attached. Work through these issues and keep moving forward. The best way to move past these tension is to wish good things for yourself and others. It’s also a good idea to charge your charge crystals under the moon (yes I do this. Don’t judge me), and wish good health for others. 6. Waning Gibbous This is a time to practice gratitude and spread positivity. This could be doing a chore for someone or giving a gift to someone when they didn’t ask for it. This is also when you should be seeing the outcome of your hard work. Or at the least the progress of it practice giving back (in any form that you wish) 7. Last Quarter This is a time to let go and forgive. To purge bad thoughts and habits that have developed from your manifestation process. It’s also a time that lessons are learned and we gain new insights about ourselves. The way I handle this time of the month is to work out. Which means I run and dance. A lot. But not to the point of mental burnout. That is not what we want for our bodies. It gives me new insights into my personality and self-awareness. 8. Waning Crescent (also known as the Dark Moon) This is when we get rid of negative energies (including people, places, etc.) and surrender to the universe. The thing to remember is to not make new intentions or else you won’t feel very good. Trust me, take it from someone who’s been there. An affirmation that helps me during the waning crescent is “When I have faith in the universe, peace becomes real.” It’s from Gabrielle Bernstein’s The Universe Has Your Back card deck which includes daily affirmations. And I can’t tell you how true and real this phase is. If you trust in it, it will serve you greatly. I hope ya’ll enjoyed this post. This post may feel like a lot but its okay. It was a lot when I first learned all this stuff too. The best way to keep track of all this moon stuff is to have an app (mine’s called The Moon). Nevertheless, it was informational and fun to look up more details on the moon’s phases. I hope ya'll have a great night/day where ever you are. Namaste. P.S. The first photo is from Flickr, the second photo is my own. When I get better at night time photography ya'll will be the first to know.

Happy Sunday ya’ll! Today’s post is on the one mistake that messes people up when it comes to the law of attraction. Or the one that I've seen many times. And I am definitely on that list. Therefore I thought it was fitting to make an entire post not only this one mistake but other ones too. This will help not only ya’ll but myself. Because let’s get real for a second: we all need to check ourselves sometimes. Especially in the manifestation process. I have also included an info graphic (at the end of this post) just so that we all understand the big picture. Obsessing Over The Outcome I have said this many times and I will say this again: do NOT do this. Otherwise your manifestations won’t come into physical reality. When we do this, we begin to think in lack which tells the universe “I’m going to give more of what you don’t need.” And most of the time people don’t think doing it. It’s actual insanity. I will use myself as an example (which is slightly embarrassing but we’re just going to go with it). I tend to do this when grocery shopping or anything related to school. An example is last week. I was looking everywhere for a great sale. I’m talking about the sales where everything is 50% off and more. In fact I was desperate. Why? I wanted to keep my faith in the universe up. Plus, as a cheap vegan, I’ll do anything for a deal. No joke. I went the mindset that there was a sale and found nothing. Zero. It was breaking my heart. Then I went to the grocery store yesterday and there was a huge clearance rack on goods. With a TON of vegan options. When I saw this I thought to myself, “thank you universe. You’ve done it again.” I realized that was clinging on to this desire so much that was my safety net. I became attached to it which caused me to not receive my desire. Moral of the story? Let go and stop obsessing. Trust that whatever you are manifesting is also looking for you. Trust that and you will be good. "You are the only one that creates your reality" And to be honest, I’ve needed to work on this because, well, I am a college senior. Which means peer pressure to be “an adult” and have a stable career straight out of college. Technically I have one it’s just not in its physical form. Therefore my goal is to do what’s needed and not obsess. That’s it. This blog post also includes other mistakes people make because there. Is. A lot. But it's okay because we're spiritual beings having a human experience and I wouldn't have it any other way. Not Having Faith Have faith in yourself. When you have faith in yourself, all worries subside and the nay sayers don’t come to mind. Whenever I get into this mindset I say “I believe in myself. I am worthy. I can do anything I set my mind to.” A lot of this has to do with our own self-doubt. The 3 AM gremlin voice that creeps in. It’s terrible and contagious. Therefore it’s important that we know our own self-worth. That if someone else can be a millionaire and a successful career, so can you. Not Taking Action Taking action is vital in manifestation. This can be in two forms: inspired action or intentional action. Inspired action is when you listen to your intuition. The voice that gets bigger the more you listen to it. When I decided that I was going to keep doing dance, my intuition told me to keep taking dance classes and listen to every genre of music. To keep learning and expanding. Intentional action is what the word implies: taking action. This could mean you setting up your day to be calm so that you don't end up working or studying too much. It doesn’t need to be big. It can be small. The word “action” can intimidate us because they think that we need to be working ourselves to the bone. That’s not the truth. It’s far from the truth. We need to have fun (but stay calm) and stay open-minded. The universe will give you the tools you need for a successful manifestation. Just don’t let the actions determine how you manifest a certain goal or career path. If anything just show up. Show up and see what the universe has in store. Let the hows come as you manifest that specific goal. Having No Gratitude Celebrate the small wins. Celebrate all the wins. I didn’t do this for a long time because I thought I had to be miserable in getting what I wanted. I felt like I had to be a martyr and suffer the consequences. This left me feeling broken and used. I’ve learned to not do this anymore. To appreciate everything that is in my current reality. From the air I breathe to the people I get to see. I keep a gratitude journal. This has helped me in so many ways. It raises vibrations and keeps my morality up. Like I said before, it’s okay to have fun in getting there. Also positive attitudes make the universe work faster. This isn’t to say that we need to feel happy all the time. I would be concerned if any of ya’ll stayed happy all the time. Sometimes we need to feel certain emotions. It’s about having an inner contentment and going with whatever tools the universe is giving us. I hope these helped ya’ll out. Trust me I need to remind myself of these things from time to time. It’s easy to get caught up in the hows that we forget about the big picture. With that being said, I hope ya’ll have a great night/day. Sign up for the e-mail list if you want to be notified when there’s a new post. Namaste. P.S. Here's the info graphic (aka something to keep whenever a new moon is coming up or you want to manifest something different into your life). Have fun with it kids and use it wisely. Happy Sunday ya'll! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a blog post but I wanted to make sure that I got this next topic down. Why? Well because it’s on something that might seem a little “out there” or “hippie” to you. In fact I might come off as a lunatic to you. Nevertheless, here goes nothing. This post is about energy shifts. What it’s about and its symptoms. It’s on the things that no one really talks about in the spiritual world. Okay a lot of people talk about it. The public just thinks it’s weird because it can get a little too metaphysical. Most Law of Attraction books refer to this as a “period of transition” because they don’t want to freak out their audiences. But ya’ll won’t think I’m weird for this, right? First and foremost, an energy shift is an increased awareness and vibrational energy which changes our physical consciousness. In other words, a change in how we feel, changes our perception. I have seen countless times both in myself and peers. I didn’t truly start to notice it until this year because it took me a while to wrap my brain around the idea. But your ultimate question is: why does this even happen? Well there are many reasons. Astrological changes, spiritual reawakening, personal life changes, and geomagnetic storms are all valid reasons for an energy shift. Its purpose is to bring you to a higher energy state. A state of gratitude for life and all it has to offer. This doesn’t make you better or smarter than anybody else. It just means that you are on your way to manifestation. That’s it. In other words don’t let your ego get to you cause let me tell ya’ll it sneaks up on you. "Fall in love with the process and the results will come" The symptoms of energy shifts are both mental and physical. Like I said before, it’s because there’s a change in perspective and action. And when these two are put together, there’s bound to be discomfort. For the sake of the many symptoms that can happen I’ll only include the ones that I’ve been experiencing as of late. Without further ado here they are:
Like I said before, it’s important to know that it’s part of the process. We just need to accept the change and go with the circumstances of what we asked for. In fact I’m experiencing one right now. I am a current college senior and am currently laying out what I want for this blog and my career. This means manifesting where I’d like to go and do. This also means befriending discomfort (as if being an actress, and theatre maker in general, hasn’t caused enough of my discomfort). It’s making me land somewhere between grounded and falling. It’s not the easiest but I know it’s for the best. Furthermore it’s something that I’m learning to accept and appreciate in my life. I hope ya’ll liked this post. Share it was anyone who feels that this Law of Attraction, metaphysics is too weird because let’s be honest…we all thought it was weird.
