Happy Sunday ya’ll! So I’ve been in this self-development phase for a little over a year now and something I’ve noticed is the misuse of certain words. Therefore I’d like to dedicate an entire blog post to the difference between Intention and Goal Setting (AKA the hallmarks of Intentional Living). First off, we are going to define Intention. Intention: a determination to act in a certain way(Merriem Webster Dictionary). Pretty simple right? The problem I’m seeing is that this term is being confused with goal setting. Yes, these aspects are part of the manifestation process but there is a distinct difference between the two. Goal Setting is setting up a plan to manifest. This means that there are smaller goals and deadlines that must be met in order for you to manifest this goal. These are actions and goals that help you throughout your manifestation journey. Usually, I use a small planner for this, but this year I went big and decided to use a calendar. Why? Because I have some big plans for this year as I am graduating from college and am ready to live my best life. So yes that’s big deal for me...(AKA me saying I leveled up). On this calendar, I put up specific deadlines and dates on when important blog posts go up. I also make time for myself because I’m one of those people who tend to work. A lot. I like to think it’s because of school but it’s honestly just me and I need to work on it all the time. It’s exhausting. With this being said, don’t get too hung up on the plan. Why? Because the universe needs to do its divine timing to ensure that this happens in the best way possible. Trust me, take it from someone who’s been there. I used to follow a plan so much that I would see nothing happening. In this situation there were two mistakes I was making:
[Let's learn from my mistakes, shall we?] “Intentional living is the art of making our own choices before others' choices make us.” Now, this is very different from setting intentions because it doesn’t have anything to do with how you act. The purpose of intention is to help you realize that specific manifestation in your mannerisms. Not the action taking. Intention could mean listening more or treating others with more respect. And let me tell you, this was a game changer for me. Intention setting made me feel and carry myself with more confidence in everything I did. One example I can think of is this past summer. I getting overwhelmed by school and life in general. I was worried about the future [an obstacle many college students face] and my anxiety was building up like no other. I felt like my life was falling apart. As dramatic as that sounds, it was true. Hence why I didn’t post that often. This is when I started to implement intentions every day and, in turn, understand the power of intentions. Every day I write down that I am breathing and staying present. That was it. That was all I needed. Another one would be the other day. I told myself that I would give a genuine compliment to someone. I did and it made me and the other person feel good. I’ll list out some more examples on intentions you could have here:
Keep in mind that the list is endless because the intention is for you. No one else. Therefore I don’t think you to want to tell people about my intention, you’d want to show them with my actions and words. Okay I know this was a lot of information which is why I made a blog post about it. Make sure you subscribe to my email list or follow me on social media if you haven’t yet! I hope you have a great night or day! Namaste.

Happy Sunday ya’ll!
Today’s post is on a topic that I get asked about a lot. It’s also one of the reasons why I don’t tell people that I’m spiritual up front cause let’s be real: that’s awkward. Very, very awkward. What is this you ask? Well it’s the spiritual stereotypes. At first they didn’t bother me but they started to get to me these past few months. Hence why I felt like I needed to address this. I’ve learned to laugh at them but I do think this is something that is slowly changing. I also wanted to give people some advice on how to deal with it which will be later in this post. Now when I say spiritual some people might think of things like:
Anyways, we don’t do yoga everyday of our lives. I take rest days when I need to or when the full moon is coming because your girl gets fatigued two or three days before. I know people that are spiritual but don’t do yoga. And that is okay. There’s nothing wrong with that.
Now that I’ve addressed some of these stereotypes, here is some advice to those starting a spiritual practice. And get ready kids because there’s only one: keep doing you.
The people who are vibrating in a similar frequency will stay in your life. The only control you have control over is your actions and life. As long as you wish people the best and send positive vibrations, abundance has no choice but to come to you. It can get hard, but it’s always worth it to choose love over fear. Ultimately, spirituality looks different on people. There are people you wouldn’t think have a spiritual practice but totally do. I also think that we develop our spiritual practice over time. We need to take moments to be honest and grow from our experiences. I’ve learned that having quite time and being away from others is good from me. My energy gets drained from other people’s energy which is I can be a little quite. We still have feelings. We still go through things and I’ve learned that is okay. When we’re manifesting we need to feel certain emotions to prepare us for what is to come. All in all, I hope you enjoyed this and it explained a little bit of what being “spiritual” means. It gets convoluted and messed up which is why it gets a bad name. Therefore I hope this clears some of the confusion up. I hope ya’ll have a great day/night! Make sure to subscribe to the e-mail list and follow me on social media (I’m on IG more than anywhere else). Hey guys! Today I’m going to share my manifestation ritual with you all. And honestly…I am slightly terrified to share this because it is personal. It’s something I’ve done for the past eight months and it’s helped me emotionally and spiritually. For a long time I had a hard time believing in myself. I felt like I was listening to everyone’s rules and expectations and felt passive. Now I’m actually starting to believe in my true power as a spiritual being. Before I get deeper into this blog post I want to make it clear that there’s nothing weird going on here. This is me connecting with the universe in spiritually and energetically. I believe that 2019 is a year of prosperity, rejuvenation, and joy. This means tapping into my authentic self, which can come off weird to people. Trust me it’s happened. A lot. Okay now that’s out of the way here we go. People suggest that you do this on a new moon because that’s when the energy is at its highest and you’re the most open to change but you can do this at any time. People also suggest that you use an incense or diffuser and have crystals to open up your senses. 1. Meditation I always start my manifestations with a mediation. It’s usually ten minutes long and involves letting my mind wander and eventually visualizing what I’d like to manifest. Also make sure to time it because you will sit there forever if you don’t. 2. Journal Everything In Explicit Detail Next I write out my manifestations in detail. Not crazy detail but enough for me to start feeling as if it’s already there. I focus on the feelings rather than the appearance. Otherwise I’ll feel nothing when it manifests. The point of doing this is to increase my vibrations and intentions. As I’ve said in previous blog posts, the universe doesn’t read words. It reads vibrations. Therefore, if you’re feeling good and you continue those good feelings when you’re in alignment, then the manifestation will occur. Most Law of Attraction teachers tell you to do and this. And let me tell you, it works. I’m not even joking. Then I rip the paper and put it in special drawer. This is a way for me physicalize me letting my desires out into the universe and trusting what is about to come. 3. Set My Intentions Then I set my intentions. I take out my calendar (like an actual physical calendar because, well, old I’m an old person on the inside) and plan out what I am going to do to manifest this feeling. I try not to think about it too much or else I’ll get overwhelmed. The intentions I set are simple tasks. For example, I’m in the process of getting up earlier so I set the intention to be mindful about when I nap and how long I’m on my phone because that effects my sleep. Does that make sense? With this being said, I make sure to stay open to my intuitive impulses. That’s the universes way of telling us what to do. Sometimes it’s hard because we have resistance and don’t want to let go of certain things. Trust me, I know. But I’ve learned to feel those feelings and work through them. 4. Write Positive Affirmations Lastly I write positive affirmations as if the thing I am manifesting has already manifested. Most of them have to do with confidence and believing in my success because that can be a struggle for me. I write these down on a sticky note and put them on my bed to say first thing in the morning. Some examples include the following: I am abundant Abundance comes to me easily Opportunities come to me easily Thank you universe for [insert manifestation] I am a successful [insert manifestation] I am making [insert manifestation] Over time, I would changing the affirmations because they will those their effect on you. 5. Make A Vision Board I know what you’re thinking: this is overkill Geneva. Really? No I’m serious. Like dead serious. Usually I go on Pinterest and make a board with all of the things I am looking for. It doesn’t need to be a lot. The point of the vision board is to gain faith in your innate magic. Because you are magic. Whelp. Now you know my insanity. I hope ya’ll liked it and know that this it’s not all "witchy." It feels overwhelming because people have fancy set ups for their rituals (which is totally cool if you do that) and can look intimating. I’m cool with my diffuser, crystals, journal, and virtual vision board. If anything think of this ritual as a way to believe in your own power. For many people this isn’t easy because they don’t trust themselves. There are many people, habits, etc. that will need to leave and we need to trust the universe’s divine timing. I hope ya’ll have a great day. Make sure to follow me on soical media because I do post there a lot. Namaste. |
